Require active mental engagement by learners
Students will be using their schema from the story of Pinkalicious to develop their own independent story. Students will use Bloomz taxonomy applying skills to bring their story to life using the book creator app. With a variety of drawing, retelling, and technology students will be engaged through different learning styles when completing the activity.
Engage learners in practice of new knowledge or skills
Students will be learning the concept of character, action, emotion, and setting that they are learning from Pinkalicious and applying it to their own story they create. Students will have to retell their story using they key concepts as a guideline.
Support learning with technology and media
Students will be using an iPad to navigate book creator. Students will receive practice with typing, microphone, uploading, and tapping and swiping motions essential for future activities. Book creator allows students to use images and their voice to retell their story in a creative way.
Provide performance feedback prior to formal assessment
Students will be given guidance and direct instruction during the small groups with the teacher and the assistant through out the process. Each table with have a dedicated time to work directly with me while I give feedback based on their skill level and need.
