In this module, more than 20 app-based educational games are introduced. Given the plethora of the mobile, making informed decision about the educational games is a vital skill for a teacher. Please identify five app-based games that are appropriate for your subject discipline and justify your choices by citing sources introduced in this course.
PBS KIDS k-3 free
Review: This app has a variety of games for kindergarten age students and across all academic areas. There is no way to sort the games by subject or standard on the app. Students can sort by their favorite tv show character. The games are motivating, and aesthetics are pleasing. These games are mostly for fun with some academic content.
Games: Seasons spinner
Standard: Kindergarten Science I can identify types of seasons

Rocket Math K-5 free
Review: This app allows students to practice or have a quiz. There are settings for a timer, digits, and types of math problems. You can manually reset the score. This is an academic game I would use for simple addition practice and quizzing for small groups.
Games:

Storywheel k-5 Elementary
Review: Story wheel allows the child to pick a certain amount of wheels and spin them 2-3 times. Each wheel lands on a picture and then the student uses the wheels to create a story that he/she can share online. This is an academic game that allows students to have creative freedom when writing. I would use this to identify parts of a story: character, action, emotion, and setting.
Game:
3 wheels for kindergarten
Standard: Kindergarten ELA I can retell parts of a narrative.

Lego Movie Maker free elementary
Review: This app reminds me of a child friendly version of imovie. Students can create a movie using several songs and effects to overlay and add a creative component. I would use this during ELA for students to create stories they have created during writing.
Game: video with a variety of effects
Standard: Kindergarten ELA I retell parts of a narrative.
